And thank you for everything green
and its dusting with tiny yellow flowers—
tormentil, buttercup, yellow rattle, avens, pimpernel.

Thank you for all who’ve trod this path before
to show the way through reed and bog cotton.
Thank you for all the birds of the air creatures
ascending, circling.
And thank you that I am safe
to assume that the engine overhead
will not unleash an act of war.

Thank you for all the tiny yellow flowers.
