First find an area of roads named after, or connected with, birds!<\/p>\n

We chose a time at the end of weekday so that both workers on Sowton and local residents could join the walk. A lunchtime event would probably have attracted more workers. Publicity was via posters and postcards distributed in Sowton, and on social media.<\/p>\n

We met at the M5 Junction 30 Services. The walk was planned to take in as many of the roads named after birds as possible, lasting 1.5 hours and ending back at the Services. There were shortcuts available if we went over time. The route was publicised in advance, and we tweeted our location during the walk, so others were able to join us.<\/p>\n
