“O My People”

Last night my choir Antiphon gave a concert down in Stoke Gabriel church, deep in the South Hams. It was also an opportunity to get our hands on our new CD “O My People”, which we recorded back in August with Willowhayne Records.

“O My People” takes its name from the visceral setting of the Responses by John Sanders. According to the blurb, the CD is “A collection of sublime 20th and 21st century a cappella choral music, including several world première recordings. Recorded August 2015 in the magnificent acoustic of the Lady Chapel in Exeter Cathedral, UK.” As well as the Sanders, it includes music by Francis Grier, Eric Whitacre, Edward Elgar, Graham Keitch, Edgar Day, and our Director Matthew Cann.

It’s available from the Exeter Cathedral Shop; as electronic download from iTunes, Spotify and Amazon; and via Willowhayne Records’ distributors, worldwide. Christmas is not far off 😉

We have sung many of pieces in the collection in concert, and have recorded several videos. Here’s  “In Manus Tuas” by Matt, recorded at Buckfast Abbey in November 2014. I’m almost completely hidden behind him throughout!
