“Living the questions” again in 2023/24

Oh dear, I haven’t been publishing much here in 2023. Most of the action (and contemplation) has been happening over on my other blog, Grace Upon Grace.

But I am delighted to say that, after a two-year break, I am once again one of the tutors on the Medical Humanities unit undertaken by fourth-year students at Exeter Medical School. And once again I have an engaged cohort of students, and I am really enjoying it.

You can read about the Medical Humanities unit in my posts about 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21.

I have tweaked my title slightly, so this year it has become “Living the questions: conceptual art as a medium for reflecting on medical practice”, but the aims remain broadly the same:

  1. Ask questions about who we are, the world we live in, and how we live in it, and learn to see the world in a different way
  2. Gain a deeper appreciation of connections within ourselves, between each other, and as human beings in our natural context
  3. Create thought-provoking art
